Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Basquiat. Wild party goers, avant-garde music producers, and artists were painting the town in red, often literally. From Brooklyn bound subways to Wall Street, the city was alive and flying high. The CBGB club soon became a famed venue of punk rock and new wave bands from the early 1980s. The Ramones, Television, Patti Smith Group, Blondie, Talking Heads, And B-52s performed here. But New York in the ’80 was also men in briefcases driving around with their DeLoreans throughout Manhattan and eating late-night pizzas after long hour shifts at the stock exchange. The Big Apple was literally at the center of the world. Everyone wanted to join its vibrant mood. It was the greatest melting pot of art, music, fashion trends, and wild souls.
